Top 10 WORST Airline Liveries
You see them soaring through the air, majestic and graceful. Then you see them close up and you just about vomit. From the tragic to the embarrassing, here are the top 10 worst ever liveries from the world's airlines.

- Spoiler:
- Australian Airlines (2001-2006), Australia
It's supposed to be ochre, but it just looks orange. Orange and awful.
#9
- Spoiler:
- Orion Airways, England
Brown just isn't a good colour for a plane. The only word I can find to describe this is something else that's brown and rhymes with "bit."
#8
- Spoiler:
- OzJet, Australia
Racing checkers? Really?
#7
- Spoiler:
Yawn.
#6
- Spoiler:
- Braniff International, United States
What can I say? It's just an orange plane.
#5
- Spoiler:
- JetStar, Australia
Again - yawn.
#4
- Spoiler:
- CP Air, Canada
Does it really need to be said? Orange just isn't a good colour for an airliner. For a redneck's beat-up truck, maybe - but not an airliner.
#3
- Spoiler:
- EasyJet, England
ENOUGH WITH THE ORANGE ALREADY!!!
#2
- Spoiler:
- US Airways, United States
No wonder it ditched into the Hudson. It's so ugly the sky rejected it.

- Spoiler:
- Airwave Airlines, fictional
Without a doubt, this is the single worst paint job I've ever seen on a plane, fictional or otherwise. The default AI liveries of Microsoft Flight Simulator are beyond ugly and this one is by far the ugliest. It looks like a packet of nicotine gum. The only rational reason that this awful thing was included in the game would have to be to encourage people to download replacements. The only consolation I have is that this is a fictional paint job and will never be seen on a real plane.

Oh BTW, I think Airwave was inspired by Aeromexico. The logo makes it obvious.
Then, what are the 10 best liveries?

- Spoiler:
- Virgin Blue, Australia
The racing red fuselage with the blue strip and white tail lends itself well to Australia's best low-cost carrier.
#9
- Spoiler:
- Air France
Simplicity itself is a good look for the French national airline.
#8
- Spoiler:
- Air Canada
The ice-blue fuselage contrasts well with the bright red maple leaf.
#7
- Spoiler:
- Qantas, Australia
The white body and red tail with the flying kangaroo has served Australia's national airline and the world's oldest continually operating airline very well.
#6
- Spoiler:
- Korean Air, South Korea
The sky blue fuselage and contrasting yin-yang symbol looks good on any model.
#5
- Spoiler:
- Singapore Airlines
This award winning airline, frequently heralded as the world's best has become an icon of the skies with this elegant livery.
#4
- Spoiler:
- British Airways
The flowing design of BA's latest livery is a big improvement on it's past looks.
#3
- Spoiler:
- United Airlines, United States
Modern, sleek and classy, United's new livery is a proud look.
#2
- Spoiler:
- Australian Airlines (1986-1996), Australia
The elegant "little Australian" as it was known, lent itself well to the entire Australian fleet. Blue, green and gold pinstripes on a clean white background and the kangaroo tail was the best livery of any Australian airline.
#1
- Spoiler:
- Air New Zealand
New Zealand's national carrier has always had a good livery and their latest effort is no exception. Clean, flowing and elegant with the familiar Maori symbol on the tail and a good colour choice gives Air New Zealand the world's best livery.

Re: Top 10 WORST Airline Liveries
ohh god, Hawaiian! for the entire time till you take of (30-45min), they play this horrid hawaiian music (no offense, but i hate it).
Personally, I like American and American Eagle , Austrian Airlines , NWA , and I loved America West (sadly not with us) (and all their special liveries)

Then why did you go to Hawaii? There's only one place Hawaiian flies to, and they play it a lot there.Aleks wrote:ohh god, Hawaiian! for the entire time till you take of (30-45min), they play this horrid hawaiian music (no offense, but i hate it).
How come nobody mentioned this horrid airline? (In how it looks, looks can be deceiving. US Airways looks okay, but has horrible service.)

Re: Top 10 WORST Airline Liveries
On the subject of airlines that are just plain horrible, nothing beats Tiger for that. They are, hands down, the suckiest airline that ever sucked. If you ever fly within Australia, avoid Tiger. Avoid it like the plague. If you have a choice between flying Tiger and walking, walk.

Re: Top 10 WORST Airline Liveries
The worst airlines I've ever flown on was a free military flight on a C-130. You get what you pay for.
- Spoiler:
- No windows, super loud engines, hard metal seats, and the meal was a box with a ham sandwich and a pack of Oreos.

Re: Top 10 WORST Airline Liveries
I don't know about what all of you think but, the colour orange looks great on airliners, but it depends on what colours you pair with orange and the shade of orange you choose.
IMO, the Top 10 Worst Liveries is somewhat bias. For me, I won't put Braniff Int, JetStar, CP Air and EasyJet on that list. But that's my opinion. Please take my words with a pinch of salt.

Last time I was on a plane, I got some dry pretzels and Sprite...mmm....
...and it was a trans-continental flight (Seattle-Richmond)

Re: Top 10 WORST Airline Liveries
The last time I had a meal on a plane was two years ago in November 2008. As it was a 14 hours flight to Paris and another 14 hours back to Singapore, the meal onboard Singapore Airlines is best.
On the way there, had lunch (Singaporean style) and dinner (French stlye). On the way back, had dinner (Singaporean style) and breakfast (American-like).
But, if you considered a can of drink which cost $2 a meal, then it will b last year in December 2009 on a budget airline, AirAsia.

Re: Top 10 WORST Airline Liveries
The 9 hour US Airways flight from Charlotte to Honolulu was long enough to provide two meals (dinner+breakfast to Charlotte, breakfast+lunch to Honolulu), but they gave us a plastic tray with microwaved stale pasta and a cold bun.

Is this topic about the Top 10 WORST Airline Liveries or the Top 10 WORST Airline Service?

Orange on an airliner just looks trashy. Although, on an Airbus, it kind of makes sense.
I have a bit of a saying: If it's not Boeing, I'm not going.

Well, you found your match. I stick to Airbus.

"Airbus, efficiency like a bus"

Re: Top 10 WORST Airline Liveries
Don't get me wrong, they're perfectly fine aircraft. I just can't get past the name. It's a case of "what's in a name."
The name "Airbus" is just terrible. "Air-BUS." "Bus."
Buses are slow, sluggish and unreliable. That's not exactly the kind of image you want associated with an airliner.

Re: Top 10 WORST Airline Liveries
Buses are basically transport for the masses. So if you think about it, its like bringing air transport to everyone. The A300 was meant for that purpose anyway, flying high-density short routes, like LHR-CDG

Re: Top 10 WORST Airline Liveries
I get that, but still - as someone who regularly uses buses and has absolutely no love for them whatsoever, anything that imbues the "bus" mentality just doesn't do it for me.
The only reason the name was chosen was because it works in both English and French.
As I say, I have nothing against the aircraft per se - they are perfectly fine aircraft. I just can't get the image of a metrobus with a set of wings stuck on with masking tape out of my head.
