Should we have bidding committees?
PASSED | Bidding Committees
Currently, hosts of events are chosen by admins. Part of my election campaign was to change this. So, I would like to propose the following:
For all events, a bidding committee, made up of 7 non-bidding members. There would be 3 admins, 2 full members and 2 junior members.
(Please note that you will have to vote again. The last poll on this topic was deemed invalid. Thank you for your understanding and I apologise for any inconvenience caused.)

Would whoever vetoed care to explain why?

Re: PASSED | Bidding Committees
if I could vote I would still vote yes
like last time but for some reason I can't vote..
Surely a Veto vote would need to be recorded it simply can't happen and no one own up to it... It holds the union to ransom on anything... and Calaré would rather leave such a union then be constantly be held to ransom over issues..
Who gets a veto vote anyway ?

Re: PASSED | Bidding Committees
I don't understand veto either. One member decides they don't like something so they put the kibosh on it instead of simply voting "no." Unless something is being proposed that challenges your nation's sovereignty, a veto is unwarranted.
I formally challenge the veto and demand that the member who vetoed explain in full why they vetoed.

The Calaréann Ambassador to the AIN seeks formal clarification from the memberstate responsible for this wreckless and unwarranted anonymous use of VETO powers within 24hrs, as to why it was used and on what grounds.

Could all "no" voters say why they vote no, and what would make them change their minds. It's no good just voting no and having this concept binned without giving a reason why you don't like it.
I vote yes, although I would prefer if one of the Admin positions was changed to VP or President. So it would go: 1 VP/Pres position, 2 admins etc.

I voted no as well. But technically you dont have to tell you vote everyone. This should have gone to debate without people getting mad at each cause someone had vetoed it. So please understand that next time a veto takes place. They DO NOT have to tell it was them. It goes to debate and people bring up issues they may think there could be. Then the veto person may say they vetoed or not.

Yea, nobody has to explain why they voted for what they did and doesn't even have to tell what they voted. Also, Thomas I don't agree with having one position being a president or vice president because that means that you or Dan get on every single one.

Good point. Personally id wish you, tyler, would keep the veto. This should be debated. This never even went through a the debate chamber at all either...

Um... yes it did, Nate. I just moved the whole thread over here. It was in the debate chamber for 3 days.

Re: PASSED | Bidding Committees
You dont move the threads... You just make a brand new poll in here. Its always been done that way. No need to change everything. But if thats so i take my above comment back. As of right now this is not passing. Needs to be 2/3s of the vote in favor of yes (66%) right now its at 58%

Re: PASSED | Bidding Committees
No one was getting angry with anyone we were just asking why?
As for going to debate chamber it had already been there hadn't it? It was only a minor change and that's why it came straight back to vote.. As for voting I think the system needs to be changed so as to avoid these situations arising in future.. And as such I will be putting a proposal up in the debate chamber momentarily.

Me as Head of Intelligence: - Next time we are going to put only these options: YES, NO or ABSTAIN.

If people just say "no", then the issue cannot be resolved and then the idea wouldn't get anywhere. If you have an objection, say why and then a discussion can take place on whether an agreement can be reached.

Voted
Actually, some proposal requires a "Veto" option. I remember that there's a rule of it somewhere about the different type of proposals and their voting choices plus percentage to pass.
In this case, it requires a "veto" option as it will heavily impact AIN at a high level.
