Do you agree with this proposal?
PASSED | Changes to Membership Levels
There are two parts to this proposal:
1. Change Full Member to Member State and Junior Member to Associate Member
3. Introduce new level of Observer
The first two parts of this proposal are fairly self explanatory. In real life unions, you wouldn't hear the term "Junior Member." Members of unions that are not fully fledged Member States are more often than not referred to as Associate Members. Likewise, fully fledged members are simply referred to as Member States.
The second part needs some introduction. Observers are members who are below the rank of Associate Member, who are members that have joined the union, but higher than Ambassadors, who are anyone who has signed up for an account, but not necessarily joined the union. This rank would be reserved for members of other unions who wish to establish diplomatic relations with AIN members. As we are all aware, the COFR has been re-established in the wake of recent events within the AIN. The rank of Observer would allow the nations that left us to return with a low level of membership that would allow them to interact with the AIN without having to commit to full membership.
As the chart below explains, different levels of membership have different levels of rights attached:
Member States:
DO have the right to run for office
DO have the right to vote in elections and in the Chamber
DO have the right to host events
DO have the right to compete in events
DO have City Journals hosted with the AIN
Associate Members:
DO NOT have the right to run for office
DO have the right to vote in elections and in the Chamber
DO have the right to host events
DO have the right to compete in events
DO have City Journals hosted with the AIN
Observers:
DO NOT have the right to run for office

I don't understand why we need observer, but I support changing the names.

Re: PASSED | Changes to Membership Levels
I fully support and endorse this proposal it brings a refreshing new aspect of realism to our union and role-playing after all we do represent countries not just people
Re: PASSED | Changes to Membership Levels
Observer is basically the same as the old rank of ambassador
Re: PASSED | Changes to Membership Levels
Not quite. Observer would be like being half a member. They can still take part in AIN activities, but they would not have a CJ hosted here, nor would they be able to vote or run for office.
To become an observer, they would need to complete a somewhat smaller application, but would also need to show that they are a member of a union with which the AIN has diplomatic relations. It wouldn't be "come one, com all", and the application would still need to be voted on.
It's essentially a way of fostering inter-union relationships.

I was thinking of something similar days ago, looks like you just found a reason for us to have observers. Also I 100% agree with the name changes.
I agree to this idea too.

I like this idea too.
But why does it need to be "Member State"? Why not just "Member" and "Associate Member"

Re: PASSED | Changes to Membership Levels
It needs to be member state because we belong to the alliance of independent nations not the alliance of independent people.. We are after all a international organization of countries.. It's how it's done in the real world..
Re: PASSED | Changes to Membership Levels
I am going to move this to the voting chamber.
