Drennen Nuclear Power Plant
The Tirnreich has recently purchased two nuclear reactors from the Ukraine. The Ministry of Construction has already undergone extensive construction and renovation of a Cold War-era power plant that was never used, nestled in the woods of Western Tirnreich. The following maps show the layout of the area and the power plant.
Base Map
Terrain Map
Transportation Map
Nuclear Power Plant Map.
1. Water Pumps- These pumps send water from the feed pools into the pipe system. Since the reactors are boiling water reactors, (BWR) water is needed to be "fed" around the reactor so it can heat up and turn into steam.
2. Cargo Rail Depot- This depot will be used extensively in the construction phases, for bringing materials including the reactors and fuel rods to the site. It will be used after completion for refueling and refitting.
3. Water Tanks and Routers- These buildings are used to store up and pressurize water that is received from the pumps. The water is either sent to the reactors, cooling towers, or the Hazmat Storage Building.
4. Cooling Towers- Releases excess heat in the form of steam, utilizes water to cool the air, so pipes do not super heat and melt.
5. Generator Buildings- Generators are were the whole power of the nuclear plant comes in. After the water passes through the reactor super heated into steam, the steam is directed towards the generator, which turns a turbine connected to an electromagnet, creating electricity.
6. Reactor Buildings- Reactors 1 and 2 will be placed in the North and South reactor buildings, respectively. This is where the heat is generated from the reaction of uranium atoms splitting, which evaporates the water in pipes, turning it to steam. In order to keep the reactor from overheating, the fuel rods are submerged in water, and carbon control rods are inserted between fuel rods to slow or completely stop reactions from taking place.
7. Management Center- This is where the majority of personnel are located at a Nuclear power plant. Most engineers are located in this building, monitoring the reactor and energy output via computers. Several emergency systems stem from the readings in the control room, many of which are redundant in case one or more fail. There are several Emergency response rooms in the Management center, which provide radiation shielding, hazmat suits, gas masks, clean food, clean air, and an emergency communications network in case of a meltdown or other disaster.
8. Ministry of Utilities Office Building- This building houses offices of the Utilities Ministry, with offices and workstations for engineers, technicians, and scientists. The MUOB also features an extensive safety network.
9. Hazmat Storage Building- This building houses all the spent fuel rods and any other damaged radioactive equipment.

Well, the Tirnreich feels minor tremors from quakes in the Mediterranean, but nothing near Japan. Also, no risk of tsunamis.
Still, engineers are taking no chances with this plant, all structures are intended to be able to survive a quake of epic proportions.

Can't wait to see ingame pics!
also I though it would be better to use natural gas from Karasem...

Re: Drennen Nuclear Power Plant
Well, the Tirnreich is trying to move on from fossil fuels, as the growing urban areas are at risk for smog and CO2 contamination.
The Utilities Ministry is looking to build more nuclear plants, as soon as more become available. However, in the meantime the Tirnreich will consider Karasem energy solutions.

First, we'll look at one of the most important parts of the nuclear plant: the water. Water is drawn to the plant by several pumps, which pump in water flowing from the Drennen Fluss tributary, or from a natural spring; this spring-water also powers a hydro-electric dam.
Here, you'll see the Drennen Dam...
Next, you'll see the pumps that pump water into the Drennen Nuclear Pipeline.
Now, observe as the water used for as coolant travels to the storage tanks and redirect pumps...
These pumps and pipes are vital to the operation and safety of the nuclear power plant. The pumps are regularly checked by engineers and plant operators to ensure that everything runs smoothly. Whenever a group goes of the grounds to check on pumps, they must pass through the Drennen Plant Gate-West, which monitors all traffic from the western maintenance road. (it's a dead end road, so no traffic really comes in)
The West Drennen Plant Gate...
Now, in order to actually have the plant, the Tirnreich must construct it! Construction crews are utilizing recently added rail lines to transfer and receive building materials from trains. This is how most if not all material will get to the plant. There is a security checkpoint 8 km to the south, which all trains must stop at.
Drennen Plant Freight Station...
So far, nothing else is built in the area. However, there seems to be an ancient stone formation hidden in the woods...

Spectacular!!!!!!! I LOVE IT!!!! So the plant is actually under-construction?

Re: Drennen Nuclear Power Plant
Yes, I've just downloaded some parts. I'm intending it to be modular, but I'm having a hard time finding detached cooling towers that are large enough to look good

Did you try SFBT Cooling towers on the LEX?

You could lot the entire thing if you want. That's alot of work, but it does pay at the end.

Update 1
This update, the cooling towers have already been completed, with diagnostic tests being run in the form of pressurized water being turned into steam by electric heaters, and subsequently pumped through the cooling system. All this to make sure that when the reactors are hooked up, the cooling system will run as planned.
Now I need a little help from the audience here. Would you think this is a good (looking) building to house a reactor? I think it looks quite industrial, with lots of pipes everywhere, and is oddly colorful, providing a uniqueness to the plant.
As a parting shot, here's a look at a majority of the tile. It's entirely dedicated to the Drennen Nuclear Power Plant, however the land is called Drennenfeld, or "Drennen Field," as it lies a bit south west of the actual town of Drennen. It's cool to compare it to my original map, as I've tried hard to keep it as close as I can.

Haha, it's amazing! BTW, why 2 Centres Pompidou? Don't you think it's already too ugly?
