Arcacian Takes Delivery of 787

Arcacian Airlines has at last taken delivery of the Boeing 787 "Dreamliner" after a 3 year delay. The new aircraft was due to start flying in 2008 but was held up. Originally, Arcacian has placed orders for 3 787-8s and 2 787-3s, but when Boeing cancelled the 787-3, Arcacian said it would only buy 3 787-8s. The 787-3s were destined to fly from Providence direct to Christchurch and Perth. Arcacian says it will now investigate other aircraft for these routes and is eyeing the 757 as a possible candidate.

The 787-8s will be used for direct flights to Vancouver, Dubai and Johannesburg. The first 787 flight, departing on Tuesday to Vancouver, is already sold out, with customers snapping up tickets to the 3 new destinations. The first of the 3 Dreamliners touched down just after 7AM this morning, with the second and third arriving by lunch time after flying directly from the Boeing plant in Seattle.

Arcacian Airlines pilots are clambering to fly the new planes, a job the airline says it will reserve for its very best pilots. The pilots who flew the planes over from Seattle have said the Dreamliner lives up to the hype and is the best aircraft they've ever flown. Passengers are also winners with the new aircraft containing the very latest in on-board entertainment including on-demand TV, movies, music and gaming, with the ability to play against any other passenger on the plane. Passengers will also be able to connect their iPods or other devices directly into the system, as well as using the telephones to call any other passenger. And that's just economy class.

Arcacian Airlines has launched it's latest advertising campaign entitled "Move Your World" in conjunction with the arrival of the new planes.

Kevin - yes, though I use the default 777 panel as the one that came with it was not as functional.

The livery is surprisingly easy to do in Microsoft Paint, though I'm still working on getting the night textures right.
