Day 2 - Economical potential of Mediterranean Sea
Nogovicka, Hiigara
The Mediterranean Sea shows lots economical and exploration potentials when we are talking about fishery, tourism, seafood, and many others. Many economists defend that this sea is very valuable for the surrounding countries, but these countries are not exploring this sea as they should do.
1. Do you think that Mediterranean Sea is valuable to your country when we are talking about the economy?
2.Should the Mediterraneans countries create a fishery project in which is country should only fish an accorded quantity of fish and other seafood?
3.What are, in your opinion, the economical potentials of this sea?

1. Do you think that Mediterranean Sea is valuable to your country when we are talking about the economy?
Very valuable. Much of Cattala's new, renewable energy sources are reliant on the Mediterranean Sea, such as wind and tidal power. Fishing and tourism are the lifeblood of coastal areas in Cattala and all of the major cities and towns in Cattala are located on the coast - this shows how important the sea is to my country.
2.Should the Mediterraneans countries create a fishery project in which is country should only fish an accorded quantity of fish and other seafood?
Cattala already has a Sustainable Fishery Law in place and quotas have been in place for over 17 years in the country, to ensure fishing is sustainable. However we would support, and participate in, discussions about a regional fishing quota.
3.What are, in your opinion, the economical potentials of this sea?
The Mediterranean can provide massive potential for the economies of our nations. Renewable energy is developing incredibly fast and the sea could potentially be harnessed for wave or tidal energy production on a scale never seen before.
The Mediterranean will continue to provide a massive economic boost to our countries in the future and can be utilised, as well as being protected, for generations to come.

Re: Day 2 - Economical potential of Mediterranean Sea
1. Do you think that Mediterranean Sea is valuable to your country when we are talking about the economy?
Of course, because we can have some benefits from the Mediterranean, example the tourism and the fish and other seafood. We currently some companies that export seafood fished in our waters.
2.Should the Mediterraneans countries create a fishery project in which is country should only fish an accorded quantity of fish and other seafood?
We have the quotas who are the main factor that keeps the sea sustainable but as Cattala, we are opening to discussions in this particulary area in order to preserve the environment and to retire economic benefits from that.
3.What are, in your opinion, the economical potentials of this sea?
The tourism and the fishery are the most important but, certainly, the energy sources are important. We also think that a correct exploration of sea transports between North Africa and Europe would be a great topic to be considered.
