Christmas and New Year: 2011-12 Celebrations
Christmas is an important time of the year for the union, as it's a time for remembering the past year and looking forward to the next one. This Christmas will be our biggest one yet - so let's celebrate it in style! Here's how you can contribute and take part in the festivities.
> Join the AINVision 2011! Sign ups are still open and we're eagerly anticipating the contest, live from Corraile!
> Visit Nogovicka, the AIN capital, for the Royal Ball! This year is the second time the ball will be hosted in Hiigara so make sure you're participating!
> The AIN Snow Event is coming up and will be hosted by Fairview once again. Get your skis on and join in the fun!
> Christmas CJ Updates are an important part of our celebrations at this time of the year. Open a thread here and post your country's updates so the whole union can see. Even Neil did one last year!
> Presidential Alliance Awards, started last year, should be hosted from Illu'a this year. We look forward to what the new President decides for 2011's best members! Awards include Best City Notebook, Most Helpful Member and Overall Contribution Award.
> New Year's Fireworks are always a delight to see. From Arcacia to Illu'a, they're one of the best chances you'll get to show off your photoshopping talents this year. So get those sparklers out of the shed and start celebrating!
Why not make your own festivities too? Post below and I'll add them to the list. Just open a thread when you're ready and you can show us what you're doing this Christmas and New Year.

I will be doing Christmassy-themed updates in this forum, in the Cattala Christmas thread. So if you're doing Christmas updates, don't forget to post them here too.

Yeh, I forgot to shut the forum roof so we've had a bit of an Arctic drift.
Thanks go to Peter for losing the electric roof instructions and providing us with the script for the weather.

Frohe Weinachten von der Tirnreich!
The Empire will hold THREE different Christmas tree lightings this year, marking the three jurisdictions of the Tirnlander Empire, (Tirnreich, Kaiser Insel, and Jumaania) as well as the third Christmas that the unified (and expanded) Empire is celebrating.

Mayor Aaron Oslo of Abbott City will light the official Christmas tree of the Atlantic city on December 18th, marking the start of a campaign of giving, headed by the Mayor's Office along with the Give A Smile foundation.
For the week that comes after the tree lighting, citizens are asked to support the charity's campaign and donate toys and money for toys. On Christmas day, police officers, paramedics, firemen, and postal service employees will volunteer their time and give the collected toys to children in need across the city.
