Today, the Imperial Hekli Airfield gets a little brother; final openning ceremonies including the red ribbon cut by the commanding officer of the Aleksanian 2nd Fighter Squadron have officially chrisinted the Von Nacht Airfield in the name of the Empire. Ironically, the first major users of the field will be the 2nd Fighter Squadron, due to an agreement with Aleksania.

Due to the Hiigaran terrorist crisis, the Tirnreich Imperial Council has passed an emergency Act that temporarily closes the borders. No ships, aircraft, or ground vehicles may enter or leave the country. Critics, such as tourist Danni LeGauns, say that, "the Emperor closed down the borders conviently when an experienced FORIEGN air force arrives. The Emperor may soon turn the 'Reich into a police state. Gott holfen uns." The IC has dismissed such accusations, claiming that the closings are purely for security matters, and the 2nd FS will not fly any sorties until the act is rescinded.

In other news, the Nord Park Embassadors have played their first game against the Hekli Reapers in their newly built Reichswagen Fussball Stadion. The Embassadors played well in the first half, gaining a lead of 1-0, but the Reapers came back and finished 2-1 over the Embassadors. Nord Park striker Leo Krafich said, "We all played well. For the first game [as a team] against one of the best in the Tirnliga, we certainly gave them a good game."

NORD PARK, Tirnreich- Less than one hour ago, several explosions seemed to occur in the Southern Residential Districts of Nord Park, an important city in the Tirnreich. Many AIN Union embassies have buildings here.

The first blast went off around 7:30pm local time. It seemed to erupt from a luxury condo complex. As of press time, an initial body count is at 210 dead, and upwards of 500 wounded. The bomb seemed to be a highly unstable mix of plastique, gasoline, propane, and gunpowder fuse. It continues to burn as of press time.

The second blast was less incindiary. Experts say it was a concussive blast; it hit a major hotel and casino complex in the CBD. Casualties include 81 casino goers and 6 hotel employees dead, and several dozen wounded. It has been confirmed that several of the dead patrons were members of the 2nd Aleksanian Fighter Squadron, on leave from the TAC FORCOM Barracks in Hekli. Also, 1 more patron was from Escambia, and 1 more employee was of Petrovian descent.

The ministry of Justice has released a statement explaining concern for the AIN II.III Expo in Nachtsburg, mere miles away. Currently, the expo is suspended. More details to follow.

NORD PARK, Tirnreich- Yesterday, the Imperial Council declared a state of emergancy as riots continued to rage in Heki, Nachtsburg, and Kloettron Hills. The riots were due to unconfirmed reports of foriegn military strikes, which caused many to believe the recently arrived Aleksanian Air Force members were responsible. Although no official word has come from Aleksania City, the Emperor has stated that he severely doubts any Aleksanian involvment in the attacks.

Further demonstrations were ongoing in Nachtsburg, protesting the presence of Aleksanian military in the Tirnreich. The Nachtsburg Media Station (TMS) reported that crowds numbering in the thousands gathering outside the Imperial Palace, the Ministry of Defense, and the Ministry of Foriegn Affairs denouncing Aleksanian motivs and calling for a change in policy of the Imperial Family.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs-Intel Dept. (MOIAID) reported on the crowd using classified tactics and techniques. The following information has been made top secret to protect the investigations of the MOIA and various P.D.'s in affected areas.

"The majority of the protesters and demonstrators have been classified as communists, socialist-democrats, known political dissidents of Yugoslovia, and members of the United Red Seperatists Movement. These groups have been identified as dangerous to the Tirnreich politically, socially, and personally; several of the groups have openly declared their intent to remove the Emperor, radically change the country's various economic, political, and social systems, and even kill civilians. Due to equal protest and assembly laws, police cannot remove them, although a contigency plan is being made to make sure the government is not hindered or endangered by these gatherings."

Communists have a generally unwelcomed presence in the Tirnreich, as many politicians have roots in East German or similar political parties. Recent years have shown a growth of communist party memberships, as well as threats against the political leaders of the Tirnreich. "Kommies" are presumed responsible for the attacks, and the country is preparing to hear if Emperor von Nacht will ban the party.

A Statement From the Government of Aleksania

The Republic of Aleksania denies any involvement in the recent terrorist activities in Tirnreich, stating “[that] this has only been said by those trying to cover up their own misdeeds and to have a convenient scapegoat.” It has also been stated by Aleksandr Facco, the Aleksanian chancellor, “[why] would Aleksania murder its own soldiers for no good reason. These claims are false in every respect, and have no evidence what so ever to back them up. Aleksania has and will NEVER support terrorist activities. Terrorism is a war crime, and Aleksania will not have anything to do with this. Let it also be noted, that these are terrorists of the same organization that attempted to smuggle nuclear weapons into Aleksania with the intent to kill thousands of Aleksanian citizens.”

IC to Re-Evaluate Ministries
NACHTSBURG, Tirnreich- Today, the Imperial Council is meeting to discuss the recent terrorist bombings in Nord Park, as well as the security situation in the Empire. They will possibly increase the maximum size of the TDF and ISARS military branches, allowing the army component to grow with the increasing population and the coast guard/naval component to increase manpower.

Other subjects in discussion include the removal of the Ministry of the Air, the addition of the Ministry of the Media (MS), Ministry of Foriegn Affairs(MS), Ministry of Internal Affairs (MP), Ministry of Justice (MS), and the Ministry of Contsruction (MP). MS= Ministry of the State, MP= Ministry of the People; bicameral Imperial Council Ministries to better divide up government jurisdiction. The IC will also initiate the Breakdown Initiative, which is a plan to map departments into the larger ministries; ex. the TDF, IAC, and ISARS are departments under the Ministry of Defense.

Bombing Update
NORD PARK, Tirnreich- The panic of terrorism in Nord Park, the newest urban area in the Tirnreich and home of the Ambassador Center, has slowly come to an end after 5 days of riots, violent protests, and highly volatile situations. The law enforcement victory is due in part to the Tirnreich's Spezial Polizei Teilung, or Special Police Division, (SPT) but mainly the aid of AIN allies Petrova and Hiigara.

Tirnreich Seeks Base on Rugen
The Tirnreich will send the Imperial Ambassador to Germany, Alfred Wegler, to Berlin to discuss a possible military base on the German isle of Rugen. If Wegler succeeds, this will be one of the only extranational claims the Tirnreich has, and will allow the Imperial Council to initiate Operation Poseidon, which is the creation and building up of the Imperial Navy. Emperor von Nacht has been in talks with Chancellor Merkel about purchasing land for the equivalent of USD$30 million. This would put the Tirnreich's Land Acquisition Budget slightly above its USD$29.3 million budget.

As for Aleksania's offer, I will consult you in February when the LAB gets renued. Optimistically, it will be more than USD$60 million, as the Tirnreich's GDP is set to rise and the government should be getting significantly more money. That is, unless, our country suffers any more devastating attacks.

Tirnreich Defense Force to Expand
NACHTSBURG, Tirnreich- The Imperial Council met today in the Imperial Palace to discuss several topics, most notibly the expansion of the TDF and the Imperial Search and Rescue Squadron. The TDF's executive officer, General Fredrich Herman, met with Defense Minister Lutz and the rest of the Imperial Council in discussing increasing the TDF's size. They were optimistic; DM Lutz was allowed to increase the size from 15,000 to 25,000.

Admiral Jay Keller, the ISARS Executive Officer, also met with DM Lutz and the IC, and was allowed to increase the ISARS twofold, to 5,000 personnel. Adm. Keller was not entirely happy, as he feels the ISARS needs upwards of 20,000 personnel to be effective, but the Council does not want to create too many gaps in the military, as ISARS has the lowest recruitment rate of the TIM.

In other news, the Ministry of the Media (MS), Ministry of Foriegn Affairs(MS), Ministry of Internal Affairs (MP), Ministry of Justice (MS), and the Ministry of Contsruction (MP) were created under Amendment 1 of the Articles of Imperial Tirnreich.

Terrorist Bombers Arrested!
NACHTSBURG, Tirnreich- Imperial Police declared they have arrested 8 people said to be involved in the Nord Park Bombings earlier this month. Arrests were made in Nord Park, Hekli, and Kaelville. Upon arriving on the scene in each respective city, officers were immediately fired upon by automatic weapons. The ISARS were quickly called, spreading out members of the elite Combat Wing to the various situations.

Hekli was the most volatile, though, as gunmen vacated their building, and attempted to flee along the streets of southern Hekli's CBD. Three gunmen barricaded themselves in a lecture hall in the Hekli Lake College, and 5 others were trapped in the streets. 4 of those 5 were shot to death, and the other commited suicide. Of the 3 barricaded in the college, one was killed and two more were shot, but only injured; they were taken to the Imperial Infirmiry Center at Von Nacht Air Base. In all, 8 law enforcement agents, 14 civilians, and 1 ISARS operator were killed.

The terrorists were detained in the cities they were arrested in, but later moved to an undisclosed location, presumably in the backwoods of the Kloettron Hills. They have different backgrounds, with some being Arabic and Muslim, some were former KSA members in Czechoslovakia, and some were extranational communists. But all were linked to the Kaiserlich Leutes Gewerkschaft, which is the Imperial People's Union, a prominent communist party in the Tirnreich. Although it was not a primary link, the KLG supported the actions, and supposedly helped create the Global Red Army, a terrorist organization recently discovered by the Tirnreich. GRA took responsibility for the attack, although it is unknown if all members were a part of it.

All detainees will be tried not only in the Tirnreich, but also in the AIN Courts. Charges that will be brought against the bombers include Terrorism, Bombing of Imperial Property, Bombing of Public Place, Public Endangerment, Possession of Explosives, Possession of Illegal Arms, Mass Murder, Killing of Foriegn Troops. The names of the terrorists are withheld for security reasons.

Stock Market Rises in Face of Terrorist Arrests
NACHTSBURG, Tirnreich- The NTSE has been positive for the first time since the Nord Park Bombings, with the Imperial Trade Commision +120.90, the TirnGeld +10.89, and River Music Corp. +28.23. Other advances include businesses or entities suspected to be targets in further bombings, which suffered severly, but have since regained points; Halvan SciCorp +400.09, Galban Electronics +120.50, and TirnGlobal Logistics +9.68.

Air Corps to Strike Targets in Czech Republic, Acijnstan
NACHTSBURG, Tirnreich- The IAC is lined up to strike KSA, KLG, and GRA bases and militant training camps in the Czech Republic and Acijnstan; an communist emirate on the Arabian Penninsula. The IAC is said to deploy F-4 Phantoms and EF2000 Eurofighter Typhoons from a forward air base in Saudi Arabia to strike targets in the Middle East. For Czech targets, the IAC will send EF2000's to bomb one KSA guerrilla base, and several Global Red Army camps in the Czech woodlands.
