Strathmore-Palmona Area
Abbreviated to Strathmore.
Strathmore is the city that I'm going to use to bid for the Simlympics in August. I'm intending on growing the whole region. Where's what I have done today:
Also, I accidentally moved Invernessen to another section. Can an admin help me move it back here?

Re: Strathmore-Palmona Area
Thank you! I'm trying to scatter bits of history everywhere in the city. For example...
Strathmore Station
Note: I'm still growing the area around the station, so no midrise buildings surround it yet.
Strathmore Victory Station was built in 1890 to complete the first East-West railroad. At the station, commuters would take the newly extended Strathmore tram to Downtown, or to anywhere else in the city. In 1951, the streetcar system got replaced with buses. You can see some of the remains of the tracks next to the station.
In late 2009, the new Central Corridor Express(CCE) was opened as a direct route between Colbitz Central Station, Daloa Hayes Station, and Strathmore Victory Station. The Strathmore-Palmona Area Rapid Transit Authority quickly added two new platforms for the CCE.

That's a great station! I don't think I've ever seen that one before.
Also, I couldn't help but notice that the acronym for the local transit authority is SPARTA. Clever...

Thomas, 976: Thank you!
wood: There is only one reason why Palmona exists. So I could backronym SPARTA. There's going to be more jokes, like E404, 8008 ___ Drive, etc.
I'm making Strathmore-Palmona International Airport. There are currently 45 gates, with 35 more being built. I might expand Terminal 3E, the east end of the International terminal.

Re: Strathmore-Palmona Area
Placing the airport taxiway/ramp/apron/runway/airport road lots is a pain. At least I set a goal of finishing the tarmac for the international terminal. Here's a picture of it complete:
With a bit of messing around in the Gimp, I got this. This will eventually be part of an airport map, or maybe a Google Maps style picture. For now, it's a top-down view.
Here's it with the gates labeled.
What would be nice to recommend:
Name of the terminal. "International Terminal" sounds bland.
Any possible improvements.
Coming Soon - Go to the gate thread to assign gates at this terminal.

Wow, great GIMPing. ::
You could name the terminal after the city, a famous figure in the country, or even a sponsorship deal.

Thank you for your comments! The International Terminal is now called the Adraman Global Terminal.
Here's all the terminals and gates built and in top-down view.
And an almost complete bid for the AINGP.

Very nice! The airport layout reminds me somewhat of JFK.

Re: Strathmore-Palmona Area
Thank you! The airport was based off of JFK, especially the road layout.
This is a historical map of the first segment of the SPARTA Blue Line. Feel free to point out any mistakes in the map or possible improvements.
Cookies to the person who guesses the style/styles the map is inspired by.

Great job! Atlanta? - MARTA (Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority)
So it would be Strathmore Palmona Rapid Transit Authority? I used also in my first CJ in ST.

Thank you!
Westenburg Shell, in the middle of Shadow Park.
And a region view of Strathmore-Palmona so far. Every square farm will be demolished for suburbia.

Amazing park, hey what did you put that light green background on your region?

Looking good, emgmod! Shadow Park looks terrific, and the region view looks so natural.
MiguelLeal, the background colors you see are the result of rendering the region in either SC4 Terraformer or SC4 Mapper. Those programs assign certain colors to the terrain based on elevation, but opening and saving a quad re-renders it in whatever terrain mod you have installed.
