Guels Park
This is the latest and greatest development on the Tirn since Nachtsburg was quarantined and giant space moles drilled Nord Park off the map.
Guel Park was made from the start specifically to hold the Tirnreich's latest technological achievement, the space shuttle Pioneer. The shuttle was under construction from the time of Soviet-American Space races, but sat untouched since 1987. Revamped, refitted, and reenergized, the project has taken over the formerly forested fields of this south shore area. The Tirnlander Imperial Space Agency (ISA) built a simplistic, yet state of the art facility to house the Tirnreich's first fore into space. A launch pad, shuttle maintenance garage, and control tower were constructed alongside International Industrial contractors.
Overhead view of the launch and maintenance facility.
Close up shot of the launch pad.
Rear shot of the garage. Also shows the radar array designed to act both as a Doppler radar and airspace management radar.
This is ISA Control Tower Alpha. It has workspace inside to act as an aircraft control tower for the Nachtsburg Metro. When launch events are planned, the crew of CT Alpha focus all their energies on the launch mission.
This is the ISA's primary office building. It houses the complex's control center, launch/situation room, and has a conference center available for various events.
This is the AINSA building. Inside, there are several small museums to showcase the work of the AINSA and its members, and also shows previews of new works of the AINSA and ISA. Also, there are lounges for spectators during launch events, conference rooms, and offices for the AIN Dept. of Transportation and the AINSA branch.
The urban area of Guels Park is a mix of European wall-to-wall, New York compact, and modern midrises.
Overhead view of Guels Park. This urban area is largely under construction, with almost a third of the district's area currently being built. the other areas of Guels Park are currently green, but urban planners are engineering a park complex and more buildings to fill in the open space.
This is the ISA office building in the business district. It offers a commanding view of the launch complex in the background, and the GP Avenue Interchange in the foreground. ISA "corporate" workers type, staple, and research their way through the day in this modern mid-rise.
This is the Imperial Ministry of Transportation Building-Guels Park. MTB Guels is the currently the center of the M.o.T.'s operating complexes. Apart from the Imperial Palace in Nachtsburg, MTB Guels is the home office of the Transportation Minister. (currently Corban Holbaek)
(**That's all I have for you in this update. Didn't take me too long to whip up this nifty little riverside town**)

Re: Guels Park
yeah...those are from the Hong Kong BAT Team, off the STEX.
Bixel, Simfox, and/or Cockatoo-210893 are the primary BATer's...and imo the best. I love their work!

Re: Guels Park
Here's the newest update of the complex:
Another bird's eye view of the complex.
A bird's eye view of the penninsula that the ISA compex rests on. Shown on either side of the ISA building are security checkpoints and walls that border the complex.
in this view you can see the Imperial Power building. It has offices for the Ministry of Utilities, as well as Bacjow Power Inc., one of the primary power companies in the Tirnreich, and the most widely used Natural Gas provider.
Close up shot of the Nat. Gas power station in Guels Park. Around it are slum-like apartements and parking, designated for Power plant workers.
EDIT: As always, check out my photostream on Flickr for any uncut photos and photos that I have posted before.

EXPANSION
Today, I decided to expand Guels Park from a small tile transit-town into a larger city with more character. I added territory to Guels Park from an adjacent tile.
I will upload some pictures later, but for now, I'll give you the run down.
This part of the region is a wetlands area. There are many streams and ponds, which basically cover the whole city tile. Houses are built around the water, but it's generally just a chance for me to experiment with the PEG Ponds and other environmental features.
