History

1835: sailors set off from the west coast of the US in search of a faster trade route to India.
An island is discovered midway through the journey and the crew decide to settle

1838: The US sends out more ships with supplies and settlers to help establish a foot hold on the island.
Natives are discovered to the North East of the Island. The Settlers discover that the Natives call the island MiaTonium after the rare earth metal that is mined for use in their rituals. The settlers, in respect to the native nation, call the island and their nation MiaTonium.

1845: The Miatonium nation is flourishing with well over 5,000 residents and peace between the native and
Settlers have never been better. Both empires learn and trade off each other which cause diplomatic tensions between the USA and the MiaTonium Settlers.

1870: War for independence is declared as both the settlers and natives fight for freedom from the more
Imposing US nation. The US keeps sending ships to take the island but they keep getting lost at sea.

1900: The US finally gives up and grants the Freedom the MiaTonium and natives have desired for.
The natives and settlers combine to form the United Empire of MiaTonium (UEMT) which is quickly recognized by the international community.

1939: Prior to WW2, The UEMT is flourishing with well over 5,000,000 citizens. When war broke out, The
UEMT sides with the allies and prepares for war against the German war machine.

1941: The UEMT sends out all its naval and army as well as aircraft in a bid to help the allies defeat the German
war machine. The UEMT sends out a fleet of 3 battleships, 4 aircraft carriers full of aircraft, 8 cruisers and 2 submarines which proved to be a costly mistake. The fleet was engaged and eliminated as it met with the Japanese fleet heading to Pearl Harbor. The UEMT was now defenseless and soon to be under Japanese control.

1945: After a long hard fought war, the island of MiaTonium was left destroyed as the allies shelled it to rid it of
Japanese forces. Diplomacy started failing between the settlers and natives as each pointed the finger at the other for the destruction of the empire.

1955: War breaks out as both sides excel at their desire to destroy the other. The British and US help the settlers
In their bid to end the war quickly. The US drops two atomic weapons on the natives, one at the capital and one at the holiest place for them. The natives quickly surrender, fearing that other holy places may be destroyed. Spies from the settlers seek and steal the secrets of uranium enhancement and the plans for the atomic weapon.

1970: The natives are annexed into the new, emerging empire know as The MiaTonium Empire (MTE). Quick
militarization occurs as the MTE hopes to restore its lost glory during WW2. Unknown to them however, a radicalist group forms. The group is entirely composed of natives who believe the island belongs to them.

1971: The MTE government boasts about its amazing military capabilities and its wide range of nuclear arsenal.
Unfortunately, their biggest boasts becomes their biggest undoing as radicalists break in and launch the entire arsenal against the island. Within 10 minutes, the island went from 3,000,000 to 0.

2003: 12 years after the destruction of the island, MiaToniums from all over the world return to the island to
Rebuild their empire to its formal glory before the destruction of it. Thankfully the nuclear waste has diminished and is non-existent due to an enrichment flaw the former MTE was unaware of.

I find this sentence highly unrealistic. Also, the history of the island seems unrealistic. Would the USA really launch nukes at a small country in 1955? We can always improve the history later.

Also, did you complete the checklist?

* A minimum of seven in-game pictures of your nation
* A unique and realistic flag of your nation
* A map of your nation's location that does not overlap with an existing AIN nation and is realistic to your CJ style
* A type of government that again matches your CJ style
* A realistic size and population of your nation
* A reasonable ratio of custom content to maxis provided content, as that there is little repetition and a constant style of architecture
* The Network Addon Mod (NAM)

It's a nice bid, I'm not sure microwave radiation is 2010 technology, which is a law in the AIN that it has to be today's technology.

Thomas - there was an exception to the rule which stated that anything that was default in SC4 was allowed. Even though microwave radiation and/or hydrogen power isn't really viable as yet, as it is included with the original SC4 power options, it is allowed.

Well the essentials are there - we will move on to the secondary list, where you need four greens or yellows before voting can commence...

  • A custom terrain mod
    Got one Smile
  • Realistic transport network appropriate to your city style and location (maps or pictures should be provided)
Seems pretty realistic, good mix of avenues, roads and motorways - some minor realism issues with the airport that can be straightened out
  • A decent amount of realism (no airports ending with a mountain or skyscrapers in the middle of a small town)
Attention to realism is fairly good in your city building skills
  • A custom water mod
You have been given the benefit of the doubt - if you dont have one, then DOWNLOAD a mod as soon as possible.
  • A detailed and realistic context (history) for your nation
  • Attention to detail
Needs some tidying up - realism wise

    No evidence/non-existent

  • Previous, positive and active contribution to the AIN
  • Regular updates and commitment to an external city journal (on either Simtropolis, SC4Devotion, SimPeg or Simsports, links required)
  • Active participation in a previous union (links required)
  • Have hosted a community event (must have been on a previous union or a site such as Simtropolis, SC4Devotion or Simsports, links required)
  • Custom Trees
  • Decent attempt at custom BATs/lots (pictures required)

Ok, looks like voting is open - poll posted

Ok, hi there Sauberbmw, glad to see you back again. I think that there's a couple of realism issues, but that can be easily fixed. I love how your cities seem to be booming and that's a good thing. So, overall, I say, yes, but there's room for improvement! 👍

Sorry Neil, but for realism, he needs more. The two WTC towers are neighbor a little shop. Not realistic. So much high skyscrapers for a city of 2 millions. Way too high. Laugh Need some more planning, not only grow with your props (high skyscrapers). Well for the rest, it's great! Cheeky/Razz Need only some adjustment so for the moment I'll say: YES with Improvment

Well If you look at Japan, The US dropped two Atomic weapons on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. That being said, i would believe that later, the US kept dropping and testing atomic weapons on small islands in the pacific. So it is really realistic if the US did drop atomic weapons on a small islands.

because of the History between MiaTonium and the US, I don't know why it would be Unrealistic for a country to rebuild the WTC. if you can please explain this, i would be grateful.

MiguelLeal wrote:I like it , but first you hould be a junior member! You need some urban plannig classes because you have lots of skyscrapers in commercial area and you have in that area small streets!

I know, i upgraded to roads and one way streets, but as soon as i went to save it, simcity 4 crashed. it seems to be doing it alot an i don't know why, also, every time i zoom in and out, it crashes randomly. even tho i have the latest update.

Thomas wrote:It's a nice bid, I'm not sure microwave radiation is 2010 technology, which is a law in the AIN that it has to be today's technology.

There are some testing being done with satellites and Microwave dishes, so i found it realistic to produce a microwave power plant. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space-based_solar_power

But thanks guys, i appreciate becoming a member. as soon as i figure out how to stop the random crashes in simcity 4, i will keep a full time city Journal. If anyone has any ideas as to how to fix these random crashes, it would be much appreciated. also feel free to change the history to make it more realistic, i would love the considerations.

I do have a custom water mod if anyone is wondering, its The peg crystal lagoon mod

Have you tried setting SC4 to run on only one core?

Almost every single memorial to an event isn't an exact replica. In memorial to Pearl Harbor, the United States built the Arizona Memorial, not another USS Arizona. They also are planning to build Freedom Tower in place of the WTC, not a replica.

Dropping an atomic bomb for testing purposes and dropping one for war are different. There's also the fact that in 1952, the Cuban Missile Crisis happened. After that incident, people got more cautious about using nuclear weapons.

Edit:Last part now doesn't apply.
