Allow 'Republic of MiaTonium' to become a Junior Member?
Re: Approved: Junior Membership | Republic of MiaTonium
I'm pretty sure the Cuban Missile Crisis was in 1962, as JFK was president at the time.
Getting back on topic, sauberbmw, it sounds like you're running SC4 on a computer with a multi-core CPU. Because of how the computer sees SC4 process-wise, it can't run the game on more than one core without stability issues like the random crashes you've been experiencing. If you're running Windows, you can force the computer to run SC4 on only one core by editing the SC4 desktop shortcut as follows:
Right-click on the shortcut and select Properties. The window that pops up will contain a field labeled Target with the path to SimCity 4.exe in quotes. In this field, add " -CPUCount:1" (minus the quotes) at the very end of the path, after the quotes already there (I may be wrong about there not being a space between the colon and 1, so if Windows doesn't let you save this change when you type it in as I have, try adding that extra space). Click Apply and OK to leave the window. Once you've done this, make sure to always start SC4 with this shortcut (not with the Start menu or the AutoPlay menu). Your crashes should stop happening once you do this.
