Re: Comments, Questions and Discussion
I don't find them to be terrible! Besides - why would I pay for something I can get for free? There are literally THOUSANDS of freeware addons.

Yeah, freeware is good too. Why they're terrible?
-The textures are blurry (but there's a fix for that)
-The models are a little... off
-You can't repaint them yourself
Oh, btw, that EMB-120 looks like its an AI aircraft

Re: Comments, Questions and Discussion
I've had no trouble repainting the default models. I use DXTBMP to convert between extended and 24-bit bitmaps, repaint them in MS Paint and then convert them back to extended bitmaps with DXTBMP. That's how I did Australian, Arcacian, AirSouth and Air Lycanth. For the rest, I just downloaded replacement textures from flightsim.com.
The EMB-120 is actually an AI aircraft, but it's completely flyable.
What's the fix for the blurry textures?

Using DXTBMP. By exporting them out, unchecking mipmaps and replacing them in 32-bit 888 format

Re: Comments, Questions and Discussion
Anyway, I've noticed another flaw with the default aircraft.
The engine is so tiny compared to the fuselage!
And why does Australian have 52 734s so soon? Ansett only has 15 A319s!

Re: Comments, Questions and Discussion
When Arcacian bought Australian from Qantas, it bought back all the old aircraft and registrations. Also, a concerted effort was made to purchase aircraft from the numerous low-cost airlines around the world that had sprung up and gone bust within the space of only a few months.
As well as this, when Arcacian was downsized, many aircraft were rebranded as Australian Airlines.
So, 18 aircraft came from Qantas, 9 from Arcacian and the remainder from defunct low-cost carriers, many in Indonesia.
Also, even though Australian was only re-launched in the last month, the whole process was more than a year in the making. As aircraft were purchased, they were flown to Sydney and Brisbane where they were overhauled and repainted before being dispersed to hub airports.

Re: Comments, Questions and Discussion
Where is Australian based at? Ansett does Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, as well as focus cities in Singapore, Hobart and Auckland. But all these are to be progressively added.

Headquarters are in Sydney, as is main hub. Secondary hubs are Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth. Focus cities are Adelaide and Alice Springs.

Re: Comments, Questions and Discussion
I was kidding but it's certainly a small airport, not as big as Brisbane or Perth...

Re: Comments, Questions and Discussion
Alice Springs is a city. Ayers Rock has it's own airport. Alice Springs is a focus city because it is a waypoint for a few trans-continental routes. Ayers Rock only has a couple of flights in and out. Ayers Rock is 180 nautical miles West of Alice Springs.

So comments are concentrated here?

Basically. It's also because when I add things to the airline threads I want it to look nice. I don't want updates or expansions lost in a sea of comments. It also makes it easier to respond and keep track of one thread rather than 8.

If you scroll to the bottom of the page in your CJ or airliine forum, you will see "Permissions of this forum:" It should say "You can moderate the forum" Click on that and it would take you to the moderation page, where you can lock, unlock, delete etc.

Okay... Anyway, why is there a protectionist policy in place for all airlines under the Arcacian Airlines Group? It's good to have competition

Re: Comments, Questions and Discussion
The protectionist policy is only in place for the SouthAir Providence-Saint Vincent route.
The airlines actually compete with each other on a number of routes, especially Australian trunk routes.

Yes, of course! Australian already competes with Qantas, Virgin and Tiger.

Just wondering, did the inspiration for a restarted Dan-Air come from your name?
