Fifty Protesters killed in Ollingdale City by AIN troops not under OSS Orders

AIN Troops shoot dead 50 ONP protesters 431190

Dozens of AIN troops fired live bullets at ONP-supporting protesters after a peaceful march turned ugly, with over 50 civilians, including three children and twenty women, killed in the unauthorised attack. Protesters had been marching for the third day in a row, constantly surrounded by special forces operatives from the Tirnreich, Corraile, Fairview, Lanaya and Holidia. However reports from Sky News have suggested that the soldier who was shot was actually hit by a stone.

Within a few seconds of the soldier falling to the ground, troops were seen running out of buildings and forming a line in front of the protesters. Then the startled civilians slowed down to a near-stop, and were reportedly fired on immediately by the troops. Over 150 people are in hospital suffering from bullet wounds, in the worst military operation in Ollingdale's history.

The Prime Minister has launched an immediate investigation into the riot, and is ordering all foreign troops to leave the country. A military source has been quoted saying that no orders were given to any troops to fire live rounds, and permission was not granted for bullets and machine guns to be used around the protest location, due to its location near the central business district, residential areas and a local school.

Statement from the Emergency Government Meeting to the AIN, 23rd July 2010 (1:23am)

The terrible event that happened yesterday in central Ollingdale City, resulted in the deaths of 52 innocent protesters, and 5 armed ONP members. Initial reports from the Security Service OS1 have stated that around 31 foreign soldiers, all from the AIN task force, disobeyed commands from their UIO superior officers, and fired live rounds on the protest march. All foreign troops, from the Tirnreich, Lanaya, Corraile, Holidia and Fairview have been instructed to leave the country as the investigation is ongoing.

The disobedience of the foreign troops has caused outrage amongst the people of Ollingdale, and the Government. At no point were the soldiers instructed to shoot any of the protesters - including those that were armed. Military intelligence has alerted us that already the nationalists are preparing for a new wave of attacks on civilians, the AIN embassies and all government buildings, including schools.
The actions of these soldiers have now put many thousands of lives at risk.

Prime Minister Thomas Simpson will be making a speech later today about the issue, and will outline changes to foreign policy, regarding the AIN.

Today, these United Islands face a national tragedy - the deaths of 57 citizens, at the hands of foreign troops that were sent to assist us in the fight against terrorists. They were not sent here to give the terrorists more reason to kill innocent people. Because of this obvious failure in their duties as peacekeepers, we took the immediate action of deporting all foreign military personnel this morning. Currently, Ollingdale troops are taking over positions and roles that were run by AIN troops, and the hunt for nationalists and other criminals who incite hatred across the country continues.

As we speak, the cabinet is assembling for our third emergency meeting in less than 24 hours. Earlier today, we held a brief meeting, to update each other on the ongoing situation. During that meeting, we voted to cease all military involvement of Ollingdale across the globe, and the immediate closure of all embassies and high commissions in other AIN nations, including Holidia.
We also agreed that from midnight tonight, a curfew across the country will be in place, banning the movement of people from 9pm until 6am. The Army will be patrolling all streets and roads, and have been instructed to shoot on sight during the curfew hours, using taser guns only.

The failures of the AIN peacekeepers is currently being investigated, and as soon as we have the findings of that investigation, a decision will be

made on our future as part of this Union.

Hiigaran Confederacy does understand the worries of Ollingdale, but we are worried of freedom of citizens and democracy in ollingdale. We also demand that all Citizens of Hiigara leave Ollingdale or stay in safety and if possible go to the Hiigaran Embassy. Also small military force will be moved to protect only the embassy of Hiigara, even if there is a vote on moving Hiigaran Confederacy military in to the Ollingdale country to protect the citizens and freedoms of all.

Ollingdale will deport all Hiigara citizens immediately, under the request of your Government.
The Hiigaran Embassy has been closed, with immediate effect, as with all other embassies due to security concerns.
Any attempt to send troops will be blocked immediately, due to the ongoing investigation. I repeat - troops will be forcefully removed if necessary.
