Prime Minister of Ollingdale Shot Dead

The nation of Ollingdale is in mourning. Prime Minister Thomas Simpson, who has run the country for nearly 5 years, was assassinated at one minute past noon today by a lone gunmen who was working for the Ollingdale National Party, a terrorist organisation.
The Prime Minister was walking from the Foreign Ministry offices to the Parliament building, just 200 metres away. Immediately he was rushed to hospital in a helicopter, but was declared dead upon arrival.
Following Ollingdale law, the Head of OS1 has immediately taken control of the country, and Emergency Law has been implemented immediately, and a week of mourning has been announced by the Government.
It is believed that the assassination was pre-planned by the nationalists, in response to the shootings of several of their members, and innocent citizens, by AIN forces last week.

Acting Prime Minister, Lord Nicholas Churchill will be making a statement later today.

The AIN minister is attending the Union Summit due to the ongoing situation with the ONP.

He was walking because he preferred not to use cars, as it makes him seem immobile and not a part of the population. His security advisers had warned him about the risks of walking.
The gunman had been dressed as an armed police officer, which is how he got into the Surrey Lake government area, which is currently off-limits to the general public.

Well, isn't it better to live than to be seen as immobile?

It was the PM's choice to walk, just like it's the Mayor of London's decision to cycle to work everyday.
He had security around him, and members of the public aren't allowed in Surrey Lake anymore - but as I've said, the gunmen was disguised as a police officer which allowed him to get close to the PM.

This is meant to be a very serious thread. A national leader of a troubled, AIN country has been killed.

Just a side-note: since the assasinator was allowed into a sensitive area (Surrey Lake Government Area) while dressed as an armed police officer during a period of great civil disturbance, don't you think that there's a lack of security?

But oh well. All these are just to "destroy" Ollingdale so that you can focus on Cattala.

Reports leaked on the matter suggest that the assasinator WAS a police officer, who had been blackmailed by the ONP, who were holding his family captive.
