More about the Country:
The Quad Cities Region Republic is commonly known as the Quad Cities or Quad Cities Region. It is an area that bordered by Lake Canada (part of the Great Lakes, fake of course), it has a small chain of mountains (part of the Appalacians) to the east of the large metropolitan area that is made up of four large cities (on 4 large city tiles) and thier suburbs (all the small and medium tiles). The country's important government decisions are voted on by a parliment made up of the city councils from all four major cities.

Hello and thank you for applying to join the Alliance of Independent Nations. Smile
Reading through your city journal on Simtropolis, it looks like you've started to download more and more custom content, and your skills look like they're really improving, which is great to see.
However, there are some guidelines that we have for new applications to the union, which I think would be good for you to read over. Here's the links:

The Member Application Rules and Guidelines is basically the system that we use to decide whether an applicants nation is of a strong quality to enter the union, as we pride ourselves on having the best quality CJs. Here is a link to them:

http://www.aoin.eu/admissions-desk-f58/member-application-rules-and-guidelines-t2245.htm

We also have a template application, which would be really useful to read over, which you can use to improve your application. The template contains all the checklist point areas, and is what I would recommend you base your application around.

I think I am going to have to agree with Kevin here. I think if you hit simtropolis, simcity4devotion, and some japanese sites (I have the links if you don't have them) and download some of the stuff they present to you, and do a little renovation, I think you could possibly have a application that could very well get you into the union. I do like your region, your light rail looks nice (although the elevated stations from maxis that you use do not), you have the needed water mod and the NAM, it looks like you have a terrain mod, so besides the too much maxis, I think you are good for the most part... although besides downloading, a history, and a president's name would do you good. If you don't want to use your real name (because I only like using my last, I don't like using my full name either) for the president, make one up.

On a side note, it's very nice to see you here mayorm. Welcome Smile

Replies:

Tyler- Yes, I agree that a history would help but I can't think of one at the momment, but I assure you that one will be added.
Thomas- I read through the guidlines before posting this, and modified the template application a little, but I will read through them again, because when I submitted this it was around midnight (for me) so I may have missed some of the guidelines.
Kevin- I do have a lot of custom content, GLR avenue stations, various stadiums and arenas, the water front picture shown above is almost all custom content, (llok toward the top and you'll see parts of some hotels and some box stores, I have some commercial skycrapers which are dispersed through my downtowns (look at the region pic and you'll see some on the island) I have a bunch of resturants that I plop in varfious locations, I use the bridge hieght mod, and have a terrain and water mod. I have GLR in road ands avenue as well as by itself. And the list goes on.
K50 Dude- read my reply to kevin. And like I said i posted this around midnight so a history will be added and I'll think of a presidents name. Smile Also thank you.

Some examples of custom content.

Well hello mayrom, it looks like an nice application, some things are unsettling

- Abandoning - Its ok, just It looks strange with the casino nearby
- the PEG marina inconsistency - its not really bad its just unsettling for me
- The bumps - you should flatten that out near your seaports

I still feel that you need more custom content, mainly with the bus stops, I suggest Road Top bus stations, yet but what ever you choose.

Good Luck :mounty:

You need some parks and maybe more monuments because your cities are only R or C buildings!

In my point of view. You need to change the name of your country. You would never hear a country called "Quad Cities"

I'm sorry, but I don't feel I can accumulate enough custom content to meet your standards. So I ask you to delete this application please. Also I have realised my current isn't much of a country which means it is not fit to become part of a union such as this.

I think you have the custom content, but you need to show it a little bit more. I am sorry you are no longer considering the AIN... :bounce:

Don't worry about having enough custom content now. It takes a while to accumulate it, but it's worth it in the end.

You should have seen Arcacia when I joined. I was all like: "Custom content? What's custom content?"

The membership requirements can seem daunting, but when you run through them you'll find that it's not really that bad and only takes a short time to meet the minimums. Once you have that, union membership has a way of promoting rapid improvement.

Hey I took over 9 pages just to get into AIN.

Anyway, you shouldn't give up. Just it takes some time, take a look at some other accepted CJs in the Notebook section. You'll have some type of inspiration towards your cities. I do have some keypoints that you need before this can be voted.

- Add a little caption to your pictures, it makes a BIG difference.

-Try to limit to amount of highrises in your city center. For example, it won't look great if I have ALOT of same highrises in one area.:no-no:

-Add more custom content, it can limit the amount of those ugly maxis buildings and add more eye-pleasing buildings. Laugh

-Download a slope-mod of some kind. It really makes a HUGE difference when you're trying to make realisitic cities.

-Download mods like water, terrian, etc. It looks better than nothing at least.

-Think LARGE! :afro: Make EVERYTHING bigger! For instance, your seaport is WAY too small in my view.

-Your transportation network isn't too style-ish in my view. Add some zig-zags, crazy designs, ANYTHING!! :joker: Trust me, if you have some diaongal roads in the outskirts of your region filled with zones. It would've look much more pleasing. 8)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Although the application itself is average like not too great not too bad. It could use more improvement and look at the application format.
