WITHDRAWN - Junior Voting Rights
As part of my Presidential Pledges, I promised to give junior members more freedom within the Union. Under current laws, they cannot vote on any issues above Level 1.5. This is shown in the Constitution, under section 9.0, the Five Pillars System.
This proposal will mean that Junior Members have the right to vote on all of the levels, including amendments. A mention of their right to vote in Junior Membership Applications would also be added to Section 1.0, AIN Membership that would resolve the issues in the past that have confused junior members.
If you have any questions and queries, post them here.

I agree. However, I believe junior members aren't allowed to veto a proposal.

Okay, would you like me to add in that they aren't allowed the right to a veto then?

Re: WITHDRAWN - Junior Voting Rights
Somethings funny about this, because I can vote on level 3 things at the moment....
About vetoing, I say thats an admin thing. But they should be able to vote

Re: WITHDRAWN - Junior Voting Rights
erm... i commented on this but it's not here for some reason?..
Earlier I said that I think Junior Members should only be able to vote up to level 3.0. I don't think that JM's quite have the experience and simply haven't been around long enough to make amendments to the Constitution.
So if you change it to JMs can vote on everything but level 4.0 and cant veto you've got me sold.

Re: WITHDRAWN - Junior Voting Rights
I think Junior members should have the same voting rights as everybody else. Laws, even the level 4 laws, still affect them. To tell someone they can't vote on an issue that affects them directly is undemocratic.

Re: WITHDRAWN - Junior Voting Rights
I agree with Dan. Not all Junior Members are new and inexperienced, many of them are strong, mature members of the AIN community, and shouldn't be treated like they don't have the right to vote on issues that affect their membership and their countries.
And actually, in the past the law about restrictions on Junior members voting hasn't been enforced in all cases.
And yes, I'll add that they can't veto.

Re: WITHDRAWN - Junior Voting Rights
Going with Tyler on this. Id vote no. Junior Membership was placed by Peter to make it tough to get into Full membership at AIN. Only the truly dedicated stayed through this process. The toughness kept out unactive members that plague us here a lot in junior membership. Thus why the Junior Membership was created. We started it off SCJU and COFR. And dimmed it down a bit so it was more friendly

Re: WITHDRAWN - Junior Voting Rights
While in a lot of cases, Junior Members are active and knowledgeable on the forums, the newer JM's may not have the experience or competence to accurately vote on major issues such as amendments.
In RL, I am a part of this group. I just got an info pamphlet about an upcoming poll for an amendment to my state's constitution. Point is, I'm not really qualified enough to vote on this subject, since I honestly have no idea what good/harm can come of it. This is the same with some (not all) new JMs.
Maybe if they have a non-voting period for a few months they can vote on anything up to amendments, which should be reserved for full members.
