Re: Centreburg
man..
Nice pictures you have there!
but umm, do you think it's a bit weird to have some single house in the downtown? (3rd picture) :pirat:

Re: Centreburg
Time passed by rather quickly.
Getting better by the day, having short and sweet conversations with Jenna, the final discharge from hospital, and the readjustment back to my busy working life. It all whirled past me like the wind.
I credited Jenna for my apparently speedy recovery (10 days after the actual accident). I myself was surprised how I could recover so quickly. Fruit basket in hand, I took a cab (the trauma would set in whenever I touched the steering wheel) to 39 Gragham Street, where she lived.
Gragham Street was in Westlane, south of Centreburg. Going from Centreburg to Westlane was like entering a whole new realm, for Westlane was the last respite for those accustomed to "Old Centreburg".
Monahan Street, where the famous "Houses of Colour" were. A very pretty sight, I felt.
Went past the University of South Centreburg as well. Dating back to 1884, the brick facades were partially covered by creeper plants. Being the weekend, the campus was rather quiet.
39 Gragham Street, here we were. With the piece of paper where the address had been hastily scrawled, I took the lift to the 11th floor, where she lived.
20 minutes later, it dawned on me that she wasn't in. So I just went back home, a little upset.

Re: Centreburg
Words can't describe how much I love Centreburg. It just keeps getting better and better.
If you don't mind me asking, do you know where you got the tall, modern building in the first image? It's superb.

Re: Centreburg
@Thomas & Huston - That's NDEX's Flatbush Residences. The older apartments are in one of SimGoober's residential packs on the LEX.
I was back in Centreburg.
I was somewhere in town, just wandering around. The weekend was a time for relaxation for many, but in a place I still felt out of place in, it was rather lonely and boring.
The autumn breeze came as I stepped onto the still-green lawn of public side of Argyle House, the official residence of the President of the Federal Republic of Corraile. Leaves were falling, just as the seagulls swooped overhead.
So I took a drive.
Just another "home improvement project". HIP was created to turn old homes into new homes for residents. Work wasn't going on that day, well it was a weekend anyway.
Just as evening approached, I found myself driving in a nondescript suburb, watching the Sun go down. Again, the sea breeze met my face, as I setpped out of the car and look at the brilliant orange sun dip below the horizon. Tomorrow would be the daily grind again, so I had better savour the free time I had left.

Re: Centreburg
Thanks guys!
@Julien - LOL
Visiting Westlane again. It was a very interesting place, and I found the architecture, the spirit of the city captivating, breathtaking yet relaxing. It became a favourite hangout spot during the weekend. SO this week, I took a ferry there.
Westlane used the site of the Port of Centreburg, until it was moved North in the 1960s. So there were many remnants of the area's industrial origins. These row homes, which were once the homes of factory workers and blue-collar workers, are now the dormitories of the University of South Centreburg.
Again, more dormitories of the University, but these were comparatively more modern and pleasant-looking.
A sudden light rain fell on the land, just as I drove into the hilly area north of Westlane. This was a very nice suburb, that was well-adapted to the hilly conditions of the area. It was the site of the large radio antenna serving the South of centreburg.
Finally, on the way back, I passed by Hardy bay, a small transit town between Westlane and Centreburg's downtown. The rain had stopped, and the small football pitch began to stir with activity again, which got me thinking.

Re: Centreburg
Things we do at night:
Go out for dinner with friends, or colleagues, in my case. Still new to the city here, even though its been a while already. I've been planning to take some leave to sightsee, but that'll come later.
Just wander the city, or at least that's what I did last night (A Wednesday night). The newly revamped Parliament Square, and the two tower blocks for administration just a little East of the Parliament Building.
Deacon Hill Broadcasting Tower, famous after an airplane smashed into it in 1996. Still providing broadcasting service to most of Centreburg, and a nice place to just, well, chill at night.
*EDIT - I have no idea why the mosaic doesn't work

Spectacular night shots Kevin! I like the radio tower, very original idea to include one of those.
