Re: Waterfront City
No. This is repetition, you actually need only 1 of this complex, not two of them.
And this is still in the Sports style... -.-'

Re: Waterfront City
No, that's WAY too big for that. Go something smaller, A LOT smaller.
Also, stay away from the sports style for once. It's getting too repetitive.

Re: Waterfront City
Well, i was going to add some pracitce fields for the athletes village for events like a World Cup or Simylmpics. I guess I should try something else.

Again, stay away form that because you can do athletic stuff as soon you developed some skills.

Re: Waterfront City
So, maybe I could build a landmark or something like that?

Re: Waterfront City
agreed wacky, do some parks, do some capital stuff, which I might just not have seen, but don't be doing the sports, I'm probably even a little too sportsy in my cj. I'm not trying to sound mean but this is a bit overkill. Try your hand at some of the ponds, some of the modular packs for malls, storage facilities, rmip, etc., etc.
Re: Waterfront City
I totally agree with Will, If you take some of that advice, Your cities will look more pleasant and striking, Something to give the audience a little more to look at then stadiums and stuff like that.

Re: Waterfront City
Alright, here's a better idea. Make a new city and this time don't make a sports related city.
It's much better to start over again from the looks of this.
I know you can do better than this, just try harder next time.

I'm sorry, but more sports-related stuff? Every image you post is sports. Just stop posting sports - I don't mind people enjoying sports and posting some images about it, but only posting sports images is not what we do here.

Try studying the types of architecture in the region your country is in... In this case, it's North America. So why not base it off cities such as Washington DC? Or New York? Works for me

Although I'd have to admit the area looks better...
Variety is the spice of life. I have a suggestion - a university with minimal pictures of the stadium.

Re: Waterfront City
I agree with emgmod, but I still think it could do with a little more work...Maybe some more eyecandy and floral work would do nicely in the empty grass zones!

Well better than before!
I agree with Kevin... study the architecture of the region then try transform into the game...

Re: Waterfront City
It's improvement at least! You finally got rid of those sports stuff and added more normal stuff.
Let's take this to the next step,
Build a new city, but this time with more time spent with terraforming (or a downloaded map) and city-building. Try not building in grid-like cities. They look very unrealistic and much of an eyesore. Look at other CJs for inspiration such as one's that are usually top quality.
Remember this rule:
Quality > Quantity
I don't care if you don't have a lot of buildings. If it looks good, then its good!

Re: Waterfront City
Looks much better, I don't agree with Evillions in that you should terraform (at least yet )
I suggest that you put more greenery, and If you want a big city, use big cool looking buildings.
Grid is not the problem, you could use a grid, but try to avoid repetition which is what I see in the last part. Also try to download wall to wall buildings for that urban feel, and try to photo edit your images, try Paint.net
http://www.getpaint.net/
Finally, when using the grid try to make curves, a little diversity never hurt.
I also see that you use the honda shop thingy's , (if they grow too much like in the pictures, just plop some low density buildings
Final Final Note : Try to stay away from the cities edges, the cliff heading to black space, its an eyesore to my face.

Re: Waterfront City
As far as the grid thing goes, just sticking a diagonal road or so in there would do a lot. Trust me
The skyline though looks very nice, good job! And I agree with Forth I don't think you should terraform quite yet, it's pretty tough. And I also agree with the fact that there are a few too many Honda's in that city
It's improving Wacky! It really is!

Re: Waterfront City
I know that that getting off the grid is really hard. The easiest way to start off is to draw out main roads, and then carefully adding zones. (Instead of using the SC4 auto zoning tool)
I will show you an example later.

It's improving, but sadly it's still got a longs way to go, just listen to what these guys have to say and if you listen to them then you will get better. And Daniel, that last part wasn't needed in my opinion.

Ok... sorry
I meant well...
Didn't think it was offensive, since I'm a CC beginner myself.

He could just download a map from the STEX or LEX if he has SC4 Terraformer installed, he could just import the grayscale into SC4 and he has the map. Just needs to follow the instructions.

Re: Waterfront City
That's not bad, Your getting there! I still reckon it needs some controlled floral work and blending the parks with surroundings, other than that it's improving.
