Re: Meridianian City Journal
Suprising to have so many more trees comments and then hear this . That's just the edge of the redwood forests...
Anyway, tonight i've got two pics, should point out, these last two updates combined usually constitute half an update for me, even when I was doing an update a day with Stone, I had 10-15 pics an update. Anyway, I did some more work on Angelorium tonight, and decided a bit more where i'm gonna go with it. I've put in the Shushian Embassy, I can try to find something more modern if you want forth , and did a central park after watching Made in America with Larry the Cable Guy... it was the NYC Central Park Episode I've also got a Meridianian Twin Towers in that pic... see if you can spot it
I'm still expanding Downtown, but i'm not sure the BATs i'll use. I also expanded the Canal.

Re: Meridianian City Journal
Nice Embassy (its Shudonese btw )
Also I think you should make less fields and trees and forest in downtown and more clumped urban zone.
If you are trying to pull off a central park I suggest making it surrounded a little more, since central park in NYC is located in this huge urban area

Much, much better - the trees really improve it. I think for future improvements, that some more plazas and concrete squares would be excellent, although it's not a major thing.
I really like the last update with the forests.

Re: Meridianian City Journal
As a retreat from all this War and Turmoil, today I provide a journal entry from Veteran MSCRA Driver Al Summers during his stay in Angelorium for Round Two of the 2011 MSCRA Season, the Capital City 300 on April 9th at National Stadium.
I think I might end up doing alot more updates in this fashion... kinda...
Al Summers on April 11th, 2011 wrote:
Whenever I go to Angelorium It always has a festival atmosphere and it's always a great race. Atleast from behind the wheel. National Stadium hosts two races a year on the quarter mile oval, the Capital City 300 and the Leafson's Cola Company 300, one in the early fall, another in the late spring, so the weather doesn't change much between the two races, but from season to season it changes drastically with the swealtering North Meridianian summers. Since Last November I haven't been on track, no one has with the testing restrictions, and it looks, from the pictures i've seen, that the track has really been baked this summer meaning that the track will have alot more grip but will make tires look like they've been shot with a magazine out of a MAC-10 from the abrasivness of the surface, and we're turning for about 40 seconds every minute, and running about 4 laps a minute, you've got some dead tires pretty fast. But that's more for [Crew Chief] Andy [Archer] to worry about, I'm going to spend the next few day's having fun.

Exit 153 on A-93 in Angelorium.
Red Roof Inn at Embassy Village
Just got into the Hotel, from our shop in Emersonville, It was only a 240 mile journey but because it had 125 miles on two-lane backroads and two lane highways, it took almost five hours to get here, so i'm ready for a nice nap at the hotel. We're staying at a Red Roof Inn near Embassy Village, right across the street from the Shudonese Embassy, towmorrow i'll probably stop by and see one or two of them to learn a bit but for now...night, night
Friday, April 8th: 9:30 AM
Well I woke up this morning and every year, I have this little tradition of going to see Sophie at her little Kitchen in Embassy Village that she's had since 1963 at that place. I order some Pancakes and a Black Coffee and then i'm off to the Cattalian Embassy to learn a little from there. From living so long in such a liberal state as Meridiania, I was suprised to learn about the strict laws of the Holy Kingdom about marriage and other things which are so different than they are here.
Friday, April 8th: 12:15 PM
The team got here really early at about 8:30, but they were just setting up in the Garage Area under the seating bowl but after a short ride in the team's Holden Rodeo, I'm just now getting here. Andy just finished getting the car setup like we decided would probably be best back at the shop and the first on-track session didn't begin until 12:30 so I still had time to get ready and get in the car for the session's start. Immediately when I got on track, I knew we were too tight and after 4 laps I brought it back in, we went down on the sway bar, moved some weight further back and went back on track, and we were perfect. I ran 83 laps before I brought it back in and we tweaked some more but we were mostly done till qualifying. Qualifying came around and I thought I set down a pretty good lap but wound up 8th.
Friday, April 8th: 4:00 PM
Once Qualifying was over, Nikki van den Nieuwenhuijzen had taken pole, I was 8th and teammate Dan Williams was 6th. Not great but not too bad either. I was in Angelorium and decided I would see a large scale team's shop. About 1 mile from National Stadium was the Headquarters of AGPS and LNCS Team David Bayer Motorsports. Their shop is a large engineering building where they punch numbers all day every day and hope it does good about once a month. They have six-colored lettering on the roof to signify the combined background between Germany and Meridiania which has become a very popular sight, especially from aerial shots. I learned alot that i'll take back to the shop and we can apply down the road.
Friday, April 8th: 6:30PM
By the time I finished there I was too beat to continue but drove around the downtown area to see the Legislative House and Abelland, Practice Arena of the Meridianian National Baseball Team. By 7:00 I was back in bed at the Hotel and getting a good sleep for the race towmorrow.
Raceday infront of 86,000 people. Not that common for us to have that many people infront of us drivers in the MSCRA but National Stadium is always Sold Out. It's one of the best races we have all season. Twenty plus cars on the grid driving around a football field for 300 laps is simply exciting. We started 8th but by lap 20 we were in 4th, we had more of a raceday setup than a qualifying setup. On lap 101, the caution came out, we pitted, and came back out in the lead. On lap 145, going into Turn 3, Logan Wilson came up my inside right as I was going outside a lapped car and ended up catching all three of us up in an accident. Even at the slow speeds we do around the track, I had a big hit and tore up my rear end. It took us 98 laps before we could come back on track and we ended up only running 10 laps before giving up and putting it on the truck. The day ended up having a bit of a highlight overall with Dan winning the race. An upside for the team, but still an unfortunate finish.
Saturday, April 9th: 6:45 PM
University of Regnum Redwoods stadium that will be used for the 2012 MCAU Football Season.
In 1996, I graduated from University of Regnum's Mechanical Engineering Program, and every Saturday Night for four years, I would go upto Professor Jackson's Lecture room and watch the Football Game out the back window on the top floor and saw every game of the Redwood's Championship 1994 season so I decided i'd do it again but for once do it legally. We ended up beating University of Dethridge 35-17
I think I might end up doing alot more updates in this fashion... kinda...

Well I'm still figureing out photoshop for one, even though most aren't photoshopped. Only five of those had any photoshopping in them.
Also, Evillions, I am trying to ease that sudden drop but from one side of the river/canal to the other, I think would be fine.

Re: Meridianian City Journal
Just a heads up, I think my laptop will be going to a shop this week because my power system is driving me crazy at this point. It has no battery and the chord is pretty fried so I think i'll be less active.
Re: Meridianian City Journal
Every year since 1926, the last two weeks of March have seen the Isle of Follycravie shut down nearly completely for the Kirk Motorized Races, mostly motorcycle races, taking place along a 28 kilometer/17.4 mile track atleast once a day during the two weeks. Of course the roads have long been open, but i'll provide full coverage when the races start back up on March 16th. The Isle is located 80 miles due north of Derry, Northern Ireland and 160 miles West of Edinburgh, Scotland between the Irish Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. There is no official number of turns but most observers reason around 170 turns are on the track.
The track enters Kirk at the Wilson Hill and Maximillian Curves. Before hitting the rockface, the track takes a long 90 degree turn at around 60 mph before a flat out kink and a sharp 50 mph turn. The track straightens out and drops down, including during the braking zone, leading to a difficult braking for a 40 mph corner. Two more 90 degree turns follow before hitting town.
After hitting various other turns, the track doubles back upon itself and comes into downtown. The Gas Turn is one of the most famed on the track (anyone know of any walls I can get onto the inside there?) where the track goes 90 degrees past a gas station on a blind turn before crossing the River Kirk and passing the entrance to pitlane, which directly overlooks River Kirk. Following various turns and through two roundabouts, crossing the President's Bridge (State Leaders are called Presidents in Meridiania and Meridianian dependencies), passing the pitlane's reenterance point and 100m later, the start finish line. Soon after that, the cars pass "turn one", a quick right left.
Following one 90 degree turn and a 45 right turn, the track ascends and descends along the coast in the "deadman's curves", claiming numerous lives in the long history of the races, the most recent in 2002.
A shot of the actual town. After entering in the southeast (top right) the track follows the same route until hitting the last traffic light, Statehouse Road, and coming back into town, then following the previously outline route.
Statehouse (yes I know, It's not in the previous picture... oh well)
Shot of the entire city, that's the Irish Sea to the right and the Atlantic to the bottom.

UPDATE 16: East Central Angelorium
First i'll offer some insight into Meridianian Gun Laws,
Dotted all across Meridiania are Gun Shops, Guns are easily purchasable, anyone over 18 with a valid ID can go into a gun shop and purchase a gun, however before the person can legally own the gun, they must license the gun to the user. To be a licensed gun owner, someone has to be over 14. Usually the gun can be legally owned within one week however sometimes this may take less time. This gun specifically focuses on Handguns such as M9's, Desert Eagles and HK .45's but any non automatic weapon is legal in these states. A Mental Background is included in licensing, but this is often quick. Many gun ranges also exist in the country, including one about 3 miles East (I don't have that area ready but I might can have it for the next update).
Near Angels Lake are alot of Famous Hotels including the Angels Halo, owned by Marcus Miner, the heir to the Miner fortune, famed for the DamonMiner corporation. This is where the MSCRA and LNCS host their annual awards banquets.
Shell Road Stadium, home of FC Lexset of the MC Cola Championship, the second tier of Meridianian Soccer.
Picture of some stuff I think is worth showing off, I just hadn't yet, this was part of Angelorium v2 from the start, including the William Sharp Memorial, Henry Humphry Secondary School and the National Symphony Orchestra's Dual Theatres, surrounding the North Road Bridge, the Jeannot Blomsma Market and the National Aquatic Center.
Pickner's Isle
Hotels overlooking Angels Lake and the River Cole
University of Regnum who offers some of the best programs in the nation in:
*Arts Architecture
*Science and Engineering
*Business
*English
*Religion
*Foreign Studies
*Medicine
*Oceanography
*Domestic Government and Law
République de Marquette has opened the seventh Embassy, in the main Embassy area, there is now no more space in Embassy Centre, I will open more space if needed though about 5 blocks Northwest of this area.

Huston: Thanks, More plugins usually help on that Better with each update if you read all the way through the thread.

Meridiania to Bid for Simlympics XVI and 19th ISC Session:

I'm going to work alot on this in the coming weeks and this will be where I put alot of my eggs into in the not too distant future.
For those who have no idea, West Coast is the main city of the third largest Meridianian State, called West Coast. The other main cities in this state are South Juliet and Silver Coast (which i've made previous updates on). West Coast is also the capital, and basically home of the Main Airport, West Coast International Airport.

Huston: We'll see I'm pulling out alot more stops for that than most other things I do.
Forth: Nah, besides, it's got to go through someone else when you're younger
I remember Evillions wanting to see some lower class neighborhoods, hows this work for lower class?
Saint Jonathans Hospital is located in the southern part of downtown, and has served Vulputate, in some capacity, since 1921. Originally, the hosptal was much smaller but has expanded 4 times to it's current size.
Erlichmann Brewery is one of the oldest Breweries in Meridiania, having been brewing beer since 1843 when German immigrant Marco Erlichmann began brewing beer in his small home. The Brewery soon bought surrounding land and created this building.
Vulputate Baseball Stadium, home of BC Vikings, of the Meridianian National League. Neighboring the Baseball Stadium is Blosseville Road Garden.
Vikings Stadium is home for many Vulputate Sports teams, like Vulputate Vikings FC and AFC Vikings. It was built in 1996, and holds 47,500 people.
Viking Corporation headquarters, home of the owners of FC Vulputate Vikings, AFC Vikings, BC Vikings, Viking Air, and many other brands in Vulputate and in Meridiania.
The entire city of Vulputate at the current moment.
