Going by Peter's template idea, how about this template:

For new applications (CC? assessment):
Commitment: Yes/No. Reason.
CJ Creativity: Yes/No. Reason.
???: Yes/No. Reason. (Can't think of a 3rd assessment)
Overall: X Yes, X No

For upgrading applications (ACS assessment):
Activeness: Yes/No. Reason.
CJ Improvements: Yes/No. Reason.
Service: Yes/No. Reason. (Formerly Contribution and Asset)
Overall: X Yes, X No

In these formats, the assessment must have at least 2 out of 3 Yes in order to consider the vote as a full Yes. Otherwise, it's a No.

You know it's not a bad idea that Aran has implimented. One templete regarding new memberships and one templete regarding an upgrade of status.

I really like this idea of giving reasons for votes, especially the way Peter presented it. Aran's idea, while similar, seems like it could evolve into another variant of a points-based system, which we all agree has no place at AIN. I mean, if it takes a certain number of "yes" sub-votes to count a vote as a "yes", we would basically have a system where the "yes" sub-votes are just points in disguise.

Not really. It's just a simple majority to go by. I like Aran's because it is more structured and would be better suited for getting right down to it and giving a definite answer
