DOWNTOWN REWORK

In the Heart of a Nation
Just informing that there might be problems with my activity due to intensive downtown rework. This is part of the pre-FullMembership Improvements Program, this is step 7/8 and is the most complicated one. I've decided to expand the city for roleplays and when the thing is done, the city will be supposed to look like a 16 Million people metropolis. Don't worry, up to 36 skyscrappers were downloaded (only in the period of 2 weeks before this start in addition to other non-skyscrapper buildings - Like train stations, police and fire depts, and urban content), and there will not be massive repetition of landmarks (actually, only maxis content and non-landmark custom content will be placed more than one time.), as well as I will also focus on giant suburbs like the one you saw on the first update. Special minor areas of the downtown will bring interesting details, like a French and an Asian district (more than 35 for these) as a big city always atract people from many parts of the World.
Demolition of some outdated areas as well as terraforming work:
As you can see above, the terrain was very irregular, and there were almost no planning on the inner streets, since they were built on May, when I just applied for Jr.Membership.
This gives an idea of how the inner streets are going to look like...
Here's the kind of problem that will be corrected
The same place, with a base correction.
No mercy to massive repetition. Also the new buildings will be protected as monuments, keeping a control of growth.
Region View Correction/Expansion Plans. Note that the region you see above was generated on the SC4Terraformer, and is very (VERY) large, contains the whole Atlantic Federation and in the near future you'll be able to see other cities near the capital. There are actually other small cities spread and connected around the Region, including the other 2 capitals, still work in progress.
Taking the opportunity, Im announcing that a new minor country will try to be recognized, and it will bring many French elements to the CJ (Not a second country - It will be a minor republic inside the Federation like the 3 current ones, and it will still be under the rules of the Federal Capital, making it as relevant as an autonomous state for the AIN. The Atlantic Federation will still respond for this country like it does with the other 3, and it will participate on international events as part of the Atlantic Federation and not an independent one. Not a dependency, not a second country, just a division of an already existing one. Still under the power of a major federal government.)

It may turn challenging in the next days, but when the job is finished, not only me, but the AIN will have a big metropolis that can be brought to spotlights in the big "InterUnion" helping AIN to awake the interest of Unionless SimNations.
You might want to recommend some mid-size commercial buildings, and urban utilities that you would like to see or you think it would fit great there.

Three thoughts on this:
- With your death penalty, how do you kill the convict? Because there is some laws in the Constitution about the death penalty, which need to be followed.
- Surely all the countries should have the same justice system, and the same punishments? Wouldn't it be very confusing for a judge and the public in the three islands, to have a different system in each part of the Federation?
- And in New Lisbon, you can be sentenced to 50 years in prison for prank calling the emergency services, which is longer than you get for raping someone, and the same time as the maximum sentence for murder? I think that is a very unrealistic system.

Thanks Thomas, that was a critical mistake when editing the table.
And the new code says the death penalty can only be applied, if the death is painless or with minimal pain, like using cyanide salts, which provides instant death. Most famous use of it was on the World War II, when Adolf Hitler himself, used it to have an instant death.

The Liberators City, is the capital of the Atlantic Federation: That means the city is the politic center of 3, soon 4 countries:
- It is the Federal Capital, since 1997
- It is the Capital of the Republic of Veratlantia (Liberators Country)
- It is the Capital of the Veratlantian state of Lions
- It is the largest city of the archipelago
- It is an important naval repairing base for many allied nations, always there if ships from Gansbaai, Lanaya, Corraile, Fairview and soon Galbadia need supplies or repairs, not to mention the trade possibilities...
- It has an important Asian district, one of the largest of the world
- It holds many influences from the English, Portuguese, Angolan, French, Spanish, Dutch and Brazillian cultures.
- In 1994, the city was the stage of one of the most expressives pro-democratic movements of the 20th Century, the Liberators Revolution. The city was previously called Veratlantia Imperial City, and its actual name is due to the revolution, changing it into the today's "Liberators City".
- The city is the home of 16 million people, what makes it one of the largest - maybe the largest city of AIN.
- 3 Airports will be located there, turning it into "the great open door" for the archipelago.

Spy: Try PEG's CDK3 Seaport set on simpeg.com. For industry, I suggest tag_one on SC4D's LEX and for commercial...what kind? Medium skyscrapers/midrises? Medium shops?

Actually, all kinds of commercial buildings... but specially from mid rises to skyscrappers to keep the high density standard.
