Should Matinenda become an observer of the AIN?
Re: Approved: Observer | Matinenda
I delete the landmarks to lower the lag on my game so there's a problem...

1. Yes
2. Yes, but with residential buildings you need to plop them on a residential tile.
3. No. You type buildingplop into your cheat bar and it comes up with a list on screen.
4. No. All downloaded buildings come up.
Trust me, I've built entire cities using buildingplop. Once you're used to it, it's easy. Generally deleting the LM version isn't an issue, although it's advisable to keep it. Maybe just store them elsewhere in your hard drive?
That update is also very good, your showing a lot of rapid improvement and dedication. I would still recommend moving off-shore though, so you can use Mediterranean BATs more. I don't think taking most of southern France is a good idea...

I would know what to do about the coast on the map though, I'd like it to be realistic and there is no water inland. Also I'll download the buildprop later, still haven't been on SC4 yet today.

Re: Approved: Observer | Matinenda
Can you not add water around the cities on the edge to make it realistic? I just think in terms of role playing it would be better to move it offshore, and it would allow your nation to interact with nations such as Cattala and Fairview more easily. If you want, I can help you with a map and history if you decided to move offshore.

Re: Approved: Observer | Matinenda
I think I should stay on shore, unless you could edit it. I don't want to make the map look bad. You can try editing the map but I already have a city made on the coast (The very right tile) But if you can make it look good off shore then I'll use it and do my best with the city already made. And history I do need help on, I'm not too good at that as you can see.
EDIT: I Have an idea, the water at the coast can be a lake, and then I can move my nation to where ever is liked, would that work?

Re: Approved: Observer | Matinenda
The city on the coast could still be a coastal city, on the coast of the island of Matinenda. Here's a prototype I've drafted of the location:
I did it in about a minute, so it's completely rough. This is about where I would say Matinenda should be located. The languages could still be French and Italian. The large red square could be the capital, and the smaller green squares could be major cities/towns. It depends what kind of nation you want - small, big, you'd need to elaborate. The city on the right could be in the far south-east of the island, so it would still work.

History:
Matinenda was a part of France when Napoleon was alive, then once he died the land was soon one of Greece. But during the Imperialistic age the British and the Greeks fought for the land Matinenda was taken over by Germany in a surprise attack. During World War I America invaded German territory (Also known as current day Germany) and captured it. After the war, it was granted independence, but France provided Army protection so Matinenda wouldn't have to worry about it. But in 1930's during the American Great Depression, Americans saw Matinenda as a shelter from the bad economy America had, and heard of Matinenda's Economic Stability. Tons of Americans moved there, and it spread many American cultures to Matinenda because many American Architects moved in, and they did what they did best, and made designs for houses, so much of American Architecture is found in current day Matinenda. In World War II, Matinenda tumbled with France because it still had a dependability of the French Army. Once World War II was over many Germans moved to Matinenda in disgust what happened to their homeland.

Thomas: If you see my map though also it's not formed as an island. Unless the island would be split in two I'm not sure if it'd work or not. Or are you going to edit the map I have to make it bigger? If you are build more of a map off of what's here now like I think here is the original location: http://www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm?id=18988
Thank you all for what you have done to make Matinenda AIN material (Realistic and overall better then before) I'm happy to have been welcomed as so to the help I've been given.

Re: Approved: Observer | Matinenda
I don't know how many other members will object to this, but the flag is extremely similar to that of the Basque Country:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ikurriña
Depending on what the higher-ups say, I'd recommend not basing your flag so obviously off of a RL flag. On the other hand, you could potentially modify an ethnic or linguistic group's flag, since they're more obscure  If you do that, I recommend looking through the lists of flags at Wikipedia (see here), downloading one of the SVG images of whatever flag you like, and then editing it however you please in Inkscape (clicky), a free, open-source vector graphics editing program. It might take some time to learn the program, but the Inkscape website has a wiki with tutorials in it, and you can have as long as you need to complete your application.

Evillions: Lol, but I want Matinenda to be in Europe, not the Middle East. And I noticed that too. I don't know what's going on with it today....

Nice Sirron Kcuhc! I told you I would be looking out. But yea, if you ask me, the flag sort of looks too plain. And sorry, but I think the map is a little too exaggeratted if you know what I mean. I don't know, but I think the climate is a little too cold for a Mediteranean nation. Otherwise, good job!

Re: Approved: Observer | Matinenda
I like the map, I asked blade if he would add on to the region if he would think about making it into an island but he never replied (I asked for at least a reply if he would do it or not but he never replied, he was also on too so I'm not sure if he will reply) the flag I am changing the flag. The climate I can change, I was just making a guest. And I doubt I'll enter anyone in the Sim Pageant.

Re: Approved: Observer | Matinenda
The map wouldn't be a representative of the in-game map that you have, it would be very hard. You could lose the mountain range and make it sea, but I think it would be very tricky to get them both realistic. Something would have to give.

Re: Approved: Observer | Matinenda
Well i do have a few criticisms of my own - sorry to overlap any previous ones.
When you are posting an application to us, please please include direct links to your images. Simtropolis is very slow and it makes your application much more appealing if it has loads of images as opposed to large blocks of text.
As for your style/location well your cities are laid out in grids. European cities are rarely constrained to a grid except right in the CBD. Try introducing some more W2W (and CORNER lots), diagonals and curves for a more realistic european city.
Never worry about your region view either, the SC4 game isnt the most realistic and you are better off plopping and developing randomly as opposed to the very american game engine in the game. I recommend either moving your nation to North America OR moving it to the mediterrean and improving the style of your cities. Otherwise this application can go no further.

Re: Approved: Observer | Matinenda
Thomas: True, not sure on what to do about that...
Neil: Yeah, I'll do that next time. You also have to understand SimCity is a grid based game, and I have made more curves and have downloaded some diagonal buildings. I will find more W2W buildings on SC4devotion and use them. I may move it to the Mediterranean, not sure on that yet... True, I will do what you suggested (Like I've done with the others criticism) Thanks for the info.
I will most likely make my next CJ update on Saturday, but it will be a regular CJ update, not a straight Euro building only with no captions. As an other all update to what has happened to Eltrayton as time progressed.

Ok the guy who made the map can't make it an island so I will have to keep it on the Mediterranean Coast. What else will I need until voting starts?

Ten images need to be posted here, not in links, before voting can start. And I'm not happy about the map - you simply cannot take so much land out of France.
Plus it's unrealistic to have a blizzard in the Med.

Re: Approved: Observer | Matinenda
MiguelLeal: Thanks.
Thomas: I can't do to much else. I can't get the map turned into an island so It'll have to stay in the Mediterranean Sea area for the representation (I'd like it to be realistic). The only thing I can do is move it to the right a bit then. I just searched that up and it's says 25*C in the Summer, 15*C in the Winter. So this snow storm was a once in an ever. And I will get pictures next time I get on SimCity 4 (Give me an hour or two.)
Julien: I agree with him too. I can try editing it into an island but I think I'll have a low success rate.
I tryed editing the map, it failed (I made a copy and played with the copy)
The flag is now done!!
Now for the 10 pics:
